Missing software menu

#1 Post by ionmich »

Version 23.1 64bit XFCE.
When XFCE starts I cannot see a software menu at the bottom left corner, which is where I believe it should be. My resolution is to 1280x1024 but without my Menu Settings I cannot tell. How do I set it from the command line?

Thanks in advance.

QSI please.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Sorry I haven't used this forum for years. What is QSI?

Here's the boilerplate request that explains it:

We are going to need your computer’s complete profile before we can proceed, so you need to post the output from the QSI utility. The Quick System Info (QSI) utility is located in MX Tools and its output is automatically formatted for use here in the forum. Run the QSI utility, click “Copy for Forum” at the bottom and then just paste it here in your thread.

If you dont have a menu, from the command line ( terminal) you can do:

quick-system-info-gui

also, you may try this to restore you panel ( back it up first )
in command line ( terminal )

mx-tweak

then
backup current panel configuration (and apply )
then
restore default panel (and apply )
*QSI = Quick System Info from menu (Copy for Forum)
*MXPI = MX Package Installer
*Please check the solved checkbox on the post that solved it.
*Linux -This is the way!

I think I see the problem. 1280x1024 is not 4:3 ratio which my monitor is.

No because I am a little reluctant to use the cli method as I don't know how to backup my panel.
