How to enlarge 'Devices: File System'..so to enable updates.

Ive just done a reinstall to to increase the 'root persistence file' and the 'home persistence file' and the 'swap file' as I was running out of room when trying to update the system ie running out of room on Devices: File System.

Thunar properties shows 'File System' has 1.4GiB capacity with 1.1GiB already used (332Mib free) after a clean install.
This is wot it showed prior to enlarging working space before.

And Gparted doesn't seem to find the right area to enlarge.

Ive used Live USB Maker to install MX32.1 to a SanDisk external SSD and am running an iMac 5,1 (2007)


The manual and searches seem to provide mainly info re file system types...so far.

you can do a remaster to compress all the persistence stuff back into the default linuxfs file.

or

use the persistence configuration tools (found in mx-remastercc) to resize the persistence files.

please note you should probably be using the static persistence options since you don't have much ram. the size of the persistence files while loading into ram is limited by the amount of ram you have. not so with the static persistence options.

Thank you very much.

Gosh..I should have been able to figure out it was the Ram factor..have a second unsupported iMac with lots of ram - no issue!! Doh!!
