Is there a really 'adjustable' dark mode?

#1 Post by keos »

Hello,
Is there any 'dark mode' that can be conveniently enabled/disabled for just a particular website?.
The ones I have tried, such as 'Dark Mode' in Chrome is just on/off, the options in others are also activated globally, for each website, or deactivated ...

Is there any other 'dark mode' that I haven't seen?.

Thanks

Did you try the "dark reader" extension, it has a list to enable/disable on websites, and I'm sure some other option that I don't use...

Of course, but this one gives me the color of the letters in white, too bright for me -- and I combine the 'dark reader to color the background and the letters, and this lector doesn't work with the 'dark reader'. Thanks.

You might like "Dark Background and Light Text" extension. It's available for Mozilla based browsers, but you would have to check if it's available for Chrome browser. You can disable it on a per site basis or alter the way it displays a given website, but the best feature of this extension for me is the ability to input your own colour scheme for foreground/background/ etc..,
So in my particular instance, I have webpages to display with a dark background and the body text of webpages in silver which is more muted and less glaring on the eyes at night than white text is, but any value can be input, so the extension is truly fully customizable. I rate it right up there with uBO as a facilitator of a better browsing experience.

Take a look at Midnight Lizard. Available for both Firefox and Chrome.
This is my Fluxbox . There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My Fluxbox is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Fluxbox is useless. Without my Fluxbox, I am useless.

Almost all the browser based tools allow some degree of customizing. The catch is that not all sites will react consistently because of their css/ html/etc. Thus you may get and number of good sites mixed with a few unpleasant results. Sadly web development/ developers do not always adhere to standards; or, websites may be simply running based on old/ obsolete/ non-existent standards

Unfortunately it seems that manyroads is right, there are some apps that even block my videos on some platforms, in short it's quite a mess... at the moment I see that "Dark Background and Light Text" works for me in LibreWolf, based on Firefox, and for Chrome "Dark Them" seems to work too, no, they don't have Dark Background.

I will not consider the issue resolved yet until at least two days or so have passed - sometimes after a shutdown, everything falls apart,

thank you for your comments.

Greetings.

The Dark Reader extension allows for fine-tuning the brightness and contrast of a web page, as well as trying out a few different built-in theme engines. If the defaults that Dark Reader uses are unsatisfactory, try adjusting them.

I know, but as I also use a translator for the websites ... in some sites it stops working; what works for me, so far, :crossfingers: is to use Dark Reader and Dark Them (Chrome) together, at the same time, and in Librewolf I'm doing the same but over there together with Dark Background.
