Any Idea how I can get over 1 Mb/s ?

My Connection Information reports the same thing with my AX210S adapter.

When I run a speed test (https://www.speedtest.net/) on my 300MB symmetrical connection, I get these speeds consistently.

@bench

thanks for sharing that your fedora fast firmware is supplied by source link.....the changelog
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ke ... 0-77.ucode

I installed our FW package and at time of writing the specific fw is not in our package.

I suggest you download it manually and use root powers to install under /lib/firmware and a full reboot

#### trivia on assertion

Code: Select all

sudo apt install firmware-iwlwifi
sudo find /lib/firmware -name iwlwifi-cc-a0-77.ucode # no hits

I have the stock AHS firmware-iwlwifi with essentially the same device and PCI ID, and the wi-fi is running as fast as the ISP can provide...certainly not limited to 1mbps, even with the 6.6 kernel I'm now running.

Is it possible to tote the machine to some other place with a different access point for a test, such as a library, coffee shop, workplace, or friend's home, just to rule out that it's just your router?

I would suggest you try an usb dongle and avoid the internal card. See my recent post to spidermanslegs

Thx for the help. Currently I keep the PC on Fedora 39 until something breaks. Not my first choice of distro, but things worked out of the box.

No Hardware problem, but kernel-firmware problem, see post above.

This thread can be marked as solved and maybe helps other people also struggling with WiFi connection speed.

As the thread starter, you should do that by clicking on the checkmark beside the post that provided the solution.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Instead of downloading the latest FW ending in 77....you could just put the Fedora FW in a email or usb stick and insert into MX on reboot

To be clear, installing that additional firmware file is what got it to finally work correctly in MX?
