Request: Geany 2.0 is out! - October 2023

Can we upgrade this package from 1.38 to 2.0.0?

There has been quite a few bug fixes and feature enhancements. Many UI improvements.

I know there is a flatpak, but this one should be installed natively due to code libraries and integrated terminal.

There are also about 15 or so plugins.

I just backported it for the MX test repos from Debian Sid. You can get the main binary deb for your architecture and the -common package that is also required here early:

The settings only list about five or six plugins that are built with the package, though.

Yes, I have seen that. There are over 15 separate plugins, and I use 12 of those. I'll download the the two packages and check it out. Thanks for the link.

Are you trying to install the plugin with Geany version 2.0.0? They will not work. You will have to wait until they add the 2.0 plugins.

I found those new plugins in Sid, so am backporting those now.
