jeffreyC,
Their contact and privacy links open up to non sequiturs – suspicious, like donate with bitcoin, etc.
Also, didn't bother reading, but most reddit comments were very bad.

Hi,

today I noticed a big drawback of brave-browser: it seems to be a single-threaded application.
I had a major file copy action going on and the browser was blocked for several seconds at a time.
Most of the CPU cores were bored in the meantime.

I want to throw in Midori. It's using the Gecko engine like Firefox and I am really surprised how slick and fast it has become. Will likely be my No 1 from now in.

But will it benefit from using the older kernel of 5.10.0 of mx 21.3?
I am pretty happy with mx 23.1. Did not really encounter more than a few problems

It was either the 6.0 or 6.1 that mods and devs were suggesting avoiding.

I don't want to derail karlchen or siamhie, but couldn't you just try the 5.10 kernel and either switch or delete it if it doesn't improve anything?

Though only thing which I don't like about this browser is that it doesn't opens in full-screen unlike other browsers.

1. Disable resistFingerprinting (settings>LibreWolf)
or
2. open about:config and change these two values (privacy.window.maxInnerWidth) (privacy.window.maxInnerHeight)
Thank you very much for clarifying my confusion and hence the mistake related to LibreWolf.

The version in the Debian repos for Debian 10 (MX-19) and Debian 11 (MX-21) is 7.0 which is ancient, the current release version is 11.0.
The deb for Midori 11.0 from their website will not install in MX-21.
There is no Midori browser release in the repos for Debian 12 (MX-23).

Many times the age of the software does not really matter, but browsers need to keep up with the web and security.

Oh, I didn't test the installation of Midori in MX-21. I have installed it in MX-23, running on a ThinkPad T400.
I do agree with You that browsers are a software type where only the most actual versions should be used.

On the MX-23 Brave it is very heavy. So I didn't use it. But I decided to test Iron Browser again, very light!

Iron Browser
https://www.srware.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=62841
If you have a distribution with an older Kernel:
BEFORE YOU LAUNCH, PLEASE RUN:
cd [Insert your Iron directory here...]
sudo chown root chrome-sandbox
sudo chmod 4755 chrome-sandbox
sudo chmod 4755 chrome-wrapper
Launch with ./chrome-wrapper

Also checkout the Iron Config & BackupTool:
cd [Insert your Iron directory here...]
sudo chmod +x IronConfigBackup
./IronConfigBackup
