MX Fluxbox Screenshots
Re: MX Fluxbox Screenshots
Haha, great job!
Re: MX Fluxbox Screenshots
2010 called and they wanted their desktop back.

On my second hard drive I have MX-23 XFCE installed. So I decided to install fluxbox 1.3.5 (non MX) along side with it.
fluxbox toolbar instead of tint2, gkrellm instead of conky, slit instead of mx dockmaker, feh instead of nitrogen. Kept the menu as is but added some entries
to every day programs including the ability to either reboot or shutdown the computer. GkrellM has a plugin that allows you to take screenshots right from the
monitor. Installed wmalauncher so I could set up my slit. Now I have the best of both worlds. Default boot is to MX-23 fluxbox or select MX-23 XFCE that logs
into fluxbox 1.3.5.
Found a tip from an arch post on how to setup feh to select my backgrounds from the menu. I wasn't even aware fluxbox has a wallpaper command.

Code: Select all
[submenu] (Backgrounds)
[wallpapers] (~/.fluxbox/backgrounds) {feh --bg-scale}
[end]

This is my Fluxbox . There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My Fluxbox is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Fluxbox is useless. Without my Fluxbox, I am useless.

Re: MX Fluxbox Screenshots
I removed that option because I don't lock my screen. So it now only shows shoot at the bottom.

me too. Lock label is available for custom command as is uptime.
you go for exit-options? or Lock for an alternate screenshot setting? mail? playlist? market? weather?
you can plug in two favorites to these.

Re: MX Fluxbox Screenshots
I'm only using what would be available to users of 1.3.5 when it came out. I did add reboot and shutdown to my root menu.
Code: Select all
[restart] (Restart)
[exit] (Logout)
[exec] (Reboot) {sudo /sbin/reboot}
[exec] (Shutdown) {sudo /sbin/shutdown}

oh. now i get the idea that you did not mxfluxbox yet, you just fluxbox.
and install custom-toolbox and preview-mx

That [wallpaper] fluxbox-command is new to me too, thanks for sharing this.siamhie wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 6:12 pm[...]

It's easy to include multiple image-sources in the submenu, fluxbox handles it beautifully. Regretfully though, it doesn't show any previews or thumbnails...
But it's not that difficult to have 'feh' create a preview window with thumbnails from enabled (multiple) image folder(s), and set the selected image as desktop wallpaper with a single left-click.
I'll gladly share my script and config file if you're interested.

Sure, that would be great @ceeslans.
Currently I've got my menu opacity set to 100 so that when I open my backgrounds submenu I can see the current wallpaper displayed underneath it.
When I select a different background, it changes to that automatically and updates my .fehbg file.
The background submenu doesn't close until I right click on it's title bar, so I can randomly select images until I find one that suits my mood for the day.

Re: MX Fluxbox Screenshots
@i_ri That's correct. My main hard drive has MX-23 fluxbox installed and my third hard drive has MX-23 XFCE installed along with fluxbox 1.3.5 from the enabled repos tab.
