Mx 19.4 in menu two items "Application finder"

#1 Post by Boxy »

Hi
In Mx 19.4 is it normal to have 2 items of "Application finder" in the menu Accessories ?
Is it a bug ?
Why that ?
It is seem to be identical.
One with icon and one without icon.
Thanks.

If you mean "MX-Tools" :

If you see the double category, remove the $HOME/.config/menus/applications-merged/mx-tools.menu files. If you have not made any changes to the files in that folder, then it is also OK to remove the entire $HOME/.config/menus/applications-merged folder...

Yes, I know, that was an issue on 19 and that's why he says: "Anyone doing a fresh install with MX-21.1 and later should not see the issue. "

I find ! It is a regression in Mx 19.4
It is ok in 19.3
See many bugs and issues in 19.4 that not exist in 19.3
So the better version in Mx 19.x is the 19.3 !

I upgraded my MX Linux 19 to 21 and from 21 to 23. I arrived to upgrade. I experienced the two MX Tools (directory icon) in whisker menu. I solved yesterday. I am not very sure how, but .... i opened Menulibre making MX Tools directory icon hidden and I clicked Apply Button. Close Menulibre. Reopen and make MX Tools directory icon visible again. Click Apply Button. Start whisker menu . Done. Only one MX Tools directory icon in the menu.

Not sure what the issue is, but:
xfce4-appfinder
xfce4-appfinder --collapsed
as shortcuts, but not sure if they were in menu in 19

I too had the two "MX Tools" issue and followed Penguin's suggestion:

"opened Menulibre making MX Tools directory icon hidden and I clicked Apply Button. Close Menulibre. Reopen and make MX Tools directory icon visible again. Click Apply Button. Start whisker menu . Done. Only one MX Tools directory icon in the menu"

Can't say why it worked, only that it did, so THANKS to Penguin.
