Thanks for the reassurance. It seems I have nothing to worry about and I can resume enjoying my recent switch to MX.

Please ensure you update your post on the Distrowatch site - otherwise MX will become known as a distro with rootkits blah blah blah.....which is not the case.........and no don't expect people to follow your original link.

Posts can't be updated on DistroWatch, but I made an additional post and also posted a link to this thread.
