We now have the latest Virtual Box 7.0.10 release in both our test and AHS repo sections, backported from Debian Sid.
It's in AHS because it's the version that will work best with the newer kernels, including the 6.4s we now have there.
It's also in test because it doesn't require a newer kernel, so that non-AHS users can easily try it, too. In MX 21, it did require a newer set of sdl2 packages, which in turn needed a newer libdecor and libtpms, so those will also be updated.

Re: MX 21 Repository: The Virtual Box Thread
I'm running MX21-AHS and upgraded but VBox gives an error when I try to start my WinXP VM. modprobe vboxdrv makes no difference. I need to correct this with least time at the computer - health problems are limiting me to 20 mins at a time.

Re: MX 21 Repository: The Virtual Box Thread
The 6.0 kernel is known to have some bugs. Please install the latest 6.1 AHS kernel using MXPI--Popular Apps--Kernels, and reboot to that new kernel.
If you still have an issue, try in the terminal:
and see if it rebuilds the kernel module correctly.
If you still have an issue, try in the terminal:
Code: Select all
sudo dpkg-reconfigure virtualbox-dkms

Re: MX 21 Repository: The Virtual Box Thread
Thanks @Stevo - the reboot with the 6.1 kernel was all that was needed.
