Help for Current Versions of MX
When asking for help, use Quick System Info from MX Tools. It will be properly formatted using the following steps.
1. Click on Quick System Info in MX Tools
2. Right click in your post and paste.

Is this is an attempted upgrade to Bookworm from MX21 bullseye? If yes, did you follow Adrian's advice for in-place upgrade in our MX blog? Because I note your MX repo is still set to Bullseye.

If no, when did you change the Debian repos and why?

I installed the keyring, now upgrade works thanks! I will see X then.

First, you are not running MX 21, you have a FrankenMX with a Debian 11 kernel and Debian 12 repositories--who knows what else.

Second, you must explain how this happened, so you can prevent a repetition. This just didn't happen by itself, since the MX team has default settings that prevents it. A user has to go into configuration files and change things by hand to end up with FrankenMX.
MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing

I replaced in /etc/apt/sources.list.d bullseye with bookworm, updated, upgraded
