MX-23 beta 2 feedback thread

[FullScale4Me]

Posting from MX-23 beta 2 on my machine, cannot share videos using share option in thunar or using MX samba config, had no problem in older versions of MX, could share video from computer to vlc on phone and Kodi on home network.

This is covered in the MX23 user manual, Firewall section number 4 dot 5 dot 1.

User manual is linked from your start menu and an icon on the desktop.

Bugs and Issues:

7B. Wayland is immediately crashing back to the login screen whenever one tries to start a Wayland session. SysVInit, systemd, doesn't matter. Only X11 works.

8B. Foliate online catalogs are pretty much non-functional. The Standard Ebooks catalog, for example, causes an application hang when selecting All Ebooks.

Personally i wouldn't mind if only X11 was pre-loaded in MX23, but then wayland should not even be offered as an option at the login manager level.

As far as the name App Finder is concerned, it's way too late to change. You will not find it b/c it's not a program of any kind, it's just a theme of rofi.

Facilitated Changing the tint2 button to the rofi /bin/Launcher command
channels me through to the touchpad connection i want for tap clicking.

The .desktop will appear in your Accessories menu with whatever name you give to it and is supposed to launch any theme, still testing that.
A .desktop in custom-toolbox, docks, ,, give to this rofi Masterpiece a button.

The MX instance of rofi icon is mxlogo.

7B. Wayland is immediately crashing back to the login screen whenever one tries to start a Wayland session. SysVInit, systemd, doesn't matter. Only X11 works.

On plain debian bookworm (where the KDE wayland session seems to work from my limited testing), here are the wayland-related packages i see; are these pre-installed in MX23-beta (KDE) ?

Personally i wouldn't mind if only X11 was pre-loaded in MX23, but then wayland should not even be offered as an option at the login manager level.

Yep, I got everything on that list plus some extras. Even the versions are exact.
