is there any possibility to properly prepare LUKS+BTRFS manually from live session just before install, to achieve proper operation of the trio?

That's by design, since it's deprecated now that MXFB has been integrated with MX. whose Welcome contains all relevant info.

OK, thanks @Jerry3904. I'll disregard that message whenever mx-fluxbox gets updated.
This is my Fluxbox . There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My Fluxbox is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Fluxbox is useless. Without my Fluxbox, I am useless.

Bugs and Issues:

1B. In the KDE Wallpaper picker, image descriptions can flow out of bounds.

2B. In the MX Package Installer, "Installed" and "Upgrade available" package legends are clickable buttons that don't seem to do anything.

3B. As examples, in LibreOffice 7.4.5 and Kate 22.12.3, tooltips will glitch and partially cut off sometimes when moving from one item to another. This doesn't seem to happen at all with tooltips that are "out-of-app" though. Unchecking "Morphing Popups" in Desktop Effects fixes the issue.

4B. LazPaint 7.2.2 crashes on changing canvas size. Known old bug. Recommend removing app.

5B. In the MX Linux Installer, for the "Customize the disk layout" option, Layout Builder does not create any swap partition even though it was requested. When Layout Builder is applied, does not allow partition changes until "New layout" is selected.

6B. When program loading/processing occurs, mouse cursor sometimes starts to heavily lag.

Recommendations:

1R. Highly recommend including the Synthesizer plugin in GIMP by default.

2R. In the MX Linux Installer, for the "Customize the disk layout" option, it is recommended to have the setting for all "Use for" dialog boxes to start out blank to ensure no unintentional writes to other drives.

3D Graphical Testing Done (Nvidia Drivers Used for All Games):

1G. SuperTuxKart (Debian Native)

2G. Unreal Tournament (1999) (Steam and Steam Proton)

3G. Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 (Steam and Steam Proton)

4G. Red Faction: Guerilla (Wrecking Crew Stress Test) (Steam and Steam Proton)

Beyond Dark Forces 2 being its usual annoying self to get running, all ran without issues or frame dips.

disble touchpad while typing is the default driver behavior with the new libinput touchpad drivers. we are no longer shipping with synaptic touchpad driver, although its still available in the repo.

good catch on the plymouth theme package error. will adjust.

hello rej
touchpad settings held now in
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/30-touchpad-libinput.conf
there is a setting for disable when typing;

As dolphin_oracle stated, the default setting for disable while typing is true, yes, on,
so the only need for it to be included/ present in the driver configuration is to set disable while typing to false, no, off.
sample, Option "DisableWhileTyping" "bool"

Code: Select all

Section "InputClass"
Identifier "touchpad"
Driver "libinput"
  MatchIsTouchpad "on"
  Option "Tapping" "on"
  Option "TappingButtonMap" "lmr"
  Option "AccelSpeed" "0.075"
  Option "SendEventsMode" "disabled-on-external-mouse"
  Option "DisableWhileTyping" "false"
EndSection

Something a little funky going on with the default conky. On startup, Live and installed on 2 machines with Intel Graphics, the minutes are missing altogether but the rest of it is there. Images are from the Celeron based NUC, but identical issue on both machines. The issue prevails whether I boot the machines with Modesetting or Intel Drivers using MX Tweak between boots. I can get the minutes to display on the Laptop by opening MX Conky Manager and selecting another conky to display simultaneously, then uncheck it so only Cowon-midblue remains, but on the NUC, it's a more hit and miss.

Can anybody else replicate this?

Re: MX-23 beta 2 feedback thread

#400 Post by dolphin_oracle »

I' seeing the same as m_pav. on first boot of live of new test builds. toggling conky on and off doens't solve the problem, but toggling off and on in conky-manager does. font issue maybe?

will get some more data and post it.

note: the midblue variant is the proposed new default. the beta2 isos still uses the tangram variant, not midblue. the tangram variant appears to launch correctly.
