@i_ri
custom-toolbox should be a default install on all iso s. xfce, kde, mxfluxbox.
<custom-toolbox> needs to be a dependency for <mx-fluxbox>; right now mx-fluxbox installs without custom-toolbox.
The MXFB Settings Manager is using it, so you might want to check again

Code: Select all

apt policy custom-toolbox
Production: 5.10, MX-23 Xfce, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 16 GB, SSD 120 GB, Data 1TB
Personal: Lenovo X1 Carbon with MX-23 Fluxbox
Other: Raspberry Pi 5 with MX-23 Xfce Raspberry Pi Respin

fehlix wrote: Fri Jun 23, 2023 3:48 pm Some "cosmetic" errors do still show up:

Code: Select all

Error: /ventoy/hook/debian/antix-disk.sh: line 43: vtoy_unsquashfs: not found
Error: /ventoy/hook/debian/antix-disk.sh: line 49: vtoy_unsquashfs: not found
but seems not to prevent from booting.
You can view the live-log on screen with disabled splasht-screen or with [Alt]+F1 on VT1
or on live booted either on command line with colors

Code: Select all

less -R /var/log/live/initrd.log.color
ventoy-hook-error.jpg
or just using "Quick System Info" tool:
ventoy-live-log.jpg

Will do @fehlix when RC rolls out. In the mean time, ISO's seem to boot without the antiX error message.
I already addressed the github team the GTK GUI errors I got, but it still works and installs... just some minor stuff.
You should think about checking it and help addressing your issues with the Ventoy team directly? here:

I had similar error like the VENTOY ones.
Don't know if it's the PXE firmware version...

I managed to boot from PE based disk management like AOMEI and MACRIUM though...

PXE-Boot-MX213.jpg
I believe the current MX/antiX live system won't boot through PXE.

Ventoy installs but deletes/formats everything ...

I was installing this option: Source code (tar.gz)

Switch for option:

ventoy-1.0.93-linux.tar.gz

and it worked correctly

... but it erased the previously installed system: MX-21

*During the installation it said something like it was going to format the "device", I assumed it was the partition inside the corresponding ventoy ... not all of it ...

Note: This is not a How to use ventoy thread, but a MX23-beta2 feadback thread.
Please read ventoy FAQ or Help and README provided by ventoy.
Thanks

That's the default behaviour for a USB creation tool. You should chalk this one up to a learning experience, Always, always, if you are going to reuse USB drives for this purpose, check them first to be sure that they contain nothing important.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

custom-toolbox 23.6
keyboard Enter key Return
is locked onto the bottom frame of buttons
About, Help, Edit, Close >Return coincides.

Navigating the highlight to a Category item entry
additionally places the highlight on About,
key Return of a highlighted Category item
brings the About page.
Search the same; >Return brings About.
Thanks, I think I fixed that, for some reason autdefault for buttons in Qt is weird.
