Seems like the mxfb-accessories package is yet to be updated with the latest version of mxfb-font.
It sseems to have gotten stuck in the pipeline. The changelog shows that change was set to be packaged:

Code: Select all

mxfb-accessories (23.06.07) mx; urgency=medium

  * Non-maintainer upload.
  * Changed yad infotext to italics
  * Removed "Sub-pixels" combobox

I will push the latest change and we'll get it packaged. Sorry about that oversight.

I too am looking forward to see the answer.

Quick follow up question and sorry for questions, since this is not feedback, but helps understanding the changes.

Is default swap file introduced for simplicity reasons, to be of help for us noobs :happy: or is swap file now generally preferred way of setting up Linux system?

I'm asking this, since few years ago I learned, that at that time swap file was 'dirty', hacky way and not preferred way of setting up the system. Things changed since then, I'm sure, but can't hurt asking.

(edit, thanks moderator for help) ;)

Can manually click through to the correct file name, but some users might not think to do that. By the way, you might add to Known Issues that the ISO won't at present boot from Ventoy, a problem hopefully to be fixed by future Ventoy update.
User can get latest pre-release Ventoy builds from https://github.com/ventoy/Ventoy/actions,
which do work since MX related adjustments have been applied.

Great! Enough time for me then to duplicate this mxfb-font version and save it for later. I like its ability to set a sub-pixel order.

peter_li wrote: Fri Jun 16, 2023 2:27 am Does somebody knew why grub.cfg sometimes states root=UUID... and sometimes root=/dev/sdbXX? There are cases where my internal sda is not shown and then sdb becomes to sda and the boot stops in a dash shell.
update-grub generates grub menu entries in two flavours: If it detects a grub-installation on the other OS it uses information found within the grub.cfg file on the other OS. If there is no grub installed on the other OS, it would create generic menu entries with root=/dev/name entries. So you better always install GRUB, to get proper root=UUID=xxxx boot parameter.

So fas as I see yes, including timeshift on btrfs.

There's a 'Application Finder' entry in the rightclick applications menu, as well as in rofi, which invokes 'xfce4-appfinder-mxfb.desktop' exec command.
But the actual xfce4-appfinder command isn't executed, since this application is not installed. Either point this .desktop file to rofi/appfinder - or remove it altogether?

Thanks to everyone involved in building this great distro. I have been testing Libretto XFCE since beta 1, hereby my issues encountered.

Hardware:
Asus Vivobook Oled 3k 12th gen Intel
24 Ghz Ram

- Scaling issues. It happens frequently that I need to rescale on boot (Display->Scaling->0.5). The system sometimes (not always) forgets my settings during reboots/wakepups.
- Crashes when connecting to an external screen (HDMI). First the option is shown how to use the external screen (mirror, extension, etc). After choosing, the computer reboots
- MX Linux animation on startup and shutdown is extremely slow, it takes almost a minute to run (this was smooth in a VM, not sure why not on metal)
- The notification 'Do not show this message again', for example when a network is found, is ignored. The message keeps on showing up. I had to put the machine in Do not disturb mode
- Telegram Desktop Flatpak cannot be installed using the software installer (Error pulling from repo: GPG verification enabled, but no signatures found)

Hi:
Checking mx-tweak - Fluxbox tab, I see that the strings "108: Reset DefaultDock" and "116: Reset Fluxbox Menu", do not have space for translations.... Is it possible to increase the space for the text?
Thanks
