Can't login in firefox at all -- invalid links
Hi, I just joined the forum. I use MX21.3 and (usually) the latest firefox for browsing.
I couldn't register for this forum using firefox -- no form appeared.
So I signed up using Chromium, which promptly forgot my new password despite offering to save it :)
Now, back in Firefox I can't use the 'reset password' option for the forum. Any email I enter produces the error "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.".
Also, I can't see a 'reset my password' option in the User Control Panel or Profile pages even via Chromium, so there's no way to reset it to something I can remember.

Please ignore the part about not being able to reset the password in Chromium -- somehow it remembered the password although it's not showing in the browser settings :)
However the new password still won't get me in in Firefox -- "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again."

Are you using a VPN?
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;
In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Any httpd logs that can shed light on the problem? Perhaps the admin can help dig into the issue to determine if there's a forum setting that was changed that broke something.

Good idea but no, just my regular desktop (MX/Wildflower)...
Re: Can't login in firefox at all -- invalid links
If you can login to the Forum with Chromium but not firefox I would expect it to be a Firefox issue. That is some setting in Firefox. I am sure we have many Firefox users accessing the Forum. The Forum does not have any permission settings that distinguish between browsers.

Can you try firefox in incognito mode? Does it log in then?

I should have thought of that! Yes, it works. Now to find which add-on is the culprit...Eadwine Rose wrote: Tue Jun 13, 2023 4:49 pm Can you try firefox in incognito mode? Does it log in then?
Thanks.

those ad-on are useful,
but they also do cause some wierd issues,
and you thus do have to keep them to an minimum.
