A Fresh Re-Experience

#1 Post by Redacted »

I know that testimonials can get redundant, but it's necessary to give credit where credit is due.
After having been away for years, and actually beginning to enjoy using my wife's Mac desktop, I purchased a mini-laptop with MX preinstalled.
From the moment I began (my extensive) customization, I remembered the reasons why I preferred MX.
I was shocked at the speed of snapshots, live USB creation, boot time ... the list goes on. (This is not on some expensive super laptop, either).
The several tools provided by MX Developers are wonderful.
And then I discover the new app "user installed packages"!
I really do appreciate that MX continues to remain what it is, and yet become even better.
That's got to be a hard balancing act.
Many thanks to the team.

I agree, and I like your post-impressionialist avatar – I had to look that up.

Thank you. That's Cezanne.

Yes, I spent 45 minutes looking at it and his other work which led me to many similar paintings and artists.

I bought a disgustingly cheap! ($1) tabletop post impressionism picture of a (IIRC) book, a few musical instruments, brass urn, grapes, glass of wine,, maybe cheeses & bread set against a rustic beige block wall. My description portrays it as rather cluttered, but it's appeal is the austere or simple appearance. I love it!

OK - too off topic, and I don't like to blow smoke, and I'm sure that other distros have a lot of nice qualities, but this distro fits me and I agree with a lot of
@hebelwirkung's comments - - wanting stability (Debian Stable) with Testing Repo & AHS, Xfce, fresh installs vs rolling, etc. as I want the distro to be the tool - not me.

Cheers

I too love paintings like that. I like your choice of the word austere. Austere yet beautiful.

Agreed, and the beauty is we still have the ability to alter things to our liking.
