Plasma 5.27.5 already have all that. If you need to edit file in root partition, just go to that file in non-root dolphin and open the file in any editor without root. It will prompt you for sudo password at the time of saving. so no need to open separate root dolphin. @Adriandolphin_oracle wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 1:29 pmunless i'm missing something kio-admin provides the "Open as administrator" menu entry in dolphin, but not the other root actions.gurpreetkapoor wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 10:26 amkde plasma 5.27.5 has all the functionality by default, which is provided by kde-servicemenu-rootactions, I am not sure whether kde-servicemenu-rootactions package is maintained upstream or not. kio-admin package is available in debian 12, it also enables root menu action in dolphin and other graphical applications on right click.
I'm OK either way, but they don't appear to be 1-for-1 at first glance. @Adrian

Re: MX-23 beta 1 feedback thread
Check your BIOS settings, if you're using Intel PTT, which is host OS based, try changing it to TPM2.0 which is hardware based.

Indeed. You are spot on.
So it seems no TPM 2.0 functionality for me on this machine. (According to UEFI firmware it supports TPM 2.0 only via Intel PTT.)
Thank you.
Re: MX-23 beta 1 feedback thread
I'm probably going to do the same thing with my machine. Only reason for me to be on Fedora is a usable KDE Wayland session (can't stand the X11 input/output lag), but now that MX Linux has KDE 5.27.5 that advantage may be gone. Even the difference between kernel 6.1.x and 6.3.x isn't that noticeable.Joseph DeGarmo wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 12:32 pmNo, that computer is NOT upgrading to Fedora 38. It's moving to MX-23 KDE and/or LMDE 6.
I still use MX Linux for most of my VMs because Fedora hogs up all the memory (4GB) I allocate to them.

For Beta-1, on both Xfce & KDE installs:
1. Applications Menu -> Internet: No Firefox Entry (installed & working)
2. MXPI -> Popular Applications -> Video: VLC Unchecked (installed & working)

Good Wayland session (on my machine anyway) and sddm 0.20 which can run with native Wayland. Surprised to hear they didn't package 5.27.5 for Fedora 37 though.Joseph DeGarmo wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 8:41 am Wow! MX-23 beta got Plasma 5.27.5 and Fedora 37 is stuck on Plasma 5.27.4 forever. How embarrassing.
And when you do, be sure to install and use dnf5, it's a lot better than the old dnf!
Yes I agree fedora 38 is a total flop. Never had so many issues with a distro release like f38. Might try osblue with nvidia already baked into image or silver blue. Eagerly awaiting lmde6 and mx23.

EDIT: created a new user, and nothing at all happened after I clicked the "Update." Tried multiple times, nada. Then logged out/in and the file list was correctly displayed. Then opening and closing a file > updating Recent file--and that file is listed at the top. I would consider "fluxbox-remote restart" at the end of the script but not sure I want that firing off after update. But maybe...

I can't replicate this issue. FF is present in the whisker menu of my beta1 XFCE install. I haven't tested Plasma version.

VirtualBox 7 is not yet compatible on Debian 12. Oracle will not release it to the Bookworm repositories until after it gets a stable release.
Install Virtualbox via the MXPI Popular Apps tab, and you won't have any issue with VB 7.0.6. No need to manually add your user to the vboxusers group. Everything is done for you.
