Macbook 11,1 from 2012/2013 8same as in my last post: viewtopic.php?p=726957#p726957

I can't make QSI because i'm unable to login.

Installed xfce 64 bit UEFI with standard install specs.

Restart after Installing shows prompt with the choice of "maintenance mode". I cancel it with Ctrl+D. Also you can see the slow Boot-Logo live. And i'm not able to Login. After entering password and hit Enter it switched to the Login-Screen back (same as in KDE in my previous post). Here ist a video:

Here i've another video with the boot-process after hitting Ctrl+D:

can you get the /etc/fstab file and the /var/log/minstall.log file from the installed system and post them?
fstab:

Mintstick doesn’t make the trick. Failure again. Will try with mx usb maker.

Edit 21:55 : MX USB Maker failed too.
That's weird. Fedora Media Writer worked for me. And it requires Fedora. I'll boot up Linux Mint tomorrow and try it for myself. I'll also try it out on my MX-21 laptop. Have you tried Balena Etcher? I heard it's quite good.
Already tried. In vain.
I can confirm that MX Live USB Maker worked just fine for me. Perhaps you need to try a different USB device.

Hi :D

64 bit XFCE - manual partitioning via gparted before starting the installer. This SSD will share more than one Linux OS.

Still no change with Nvidia RTX4070 not being recognised.

Code: Select all

sudo ddm-mx -i nvidia -f nvidia-driver
works to install nvidia-525

Will continue testing the rest of the system for general day to day and game use via steam.

Code: Select all

Hi,

any idea why https://imgur.com/SJdVVuR.png it auto picks 3840x1080 screen res when native is 5120x1440.

Could it be that the monitor is set to 240Hz and this is the highest res Linox can cope with. Manually pick 5120x1440 and it works fine but drops down to 120Hz

could be. xfce usually picks whatever X thinks is the default state for the monitor, or the limit for the driver (usually only applies to vesa, but I guess could be any xorg driver). you can see the modes with xrandr.

xfce 64bit

Fresh install, first start. Some Buttons have no distance to the window frame.
