Revive internet connection after VPN use
Re: Revive internet connection after VPN use
I have deserted nordvpn in favor of Surfshark. However, Surfshark also has similar Internet Killing issues after disconnecting, although it seems that they are making some progress in fixing it.

Re: Revive internet connection after VPN use
I used Surfshark in the past, but it always was one issue after another. I ended up using Mullvad instead only. Mullvad on MX Linux works well as it is in their repos and works no matter what startup option you use on MX Linux. I love Mullvad and highly recommend it UNLESS your primary reason for using a VPN is to circumvent country restrictions for streaming Netflix, etc. Great documentation for linux for both their GUI and CLI.
You might want to try setting up an instance of MX Linux on a USB stick with persistence of some sort assuming you have a USB 3 or better on your computer. Install Mullvad (or whatever other VPN service you want to test). If installing Mullvad use the MX package installer. Only install the one VPN you are testing, not two of them. See if things work okay. Mullvad is easy to try because each month is one set price, no need to by years at a time. If it does not work out for you, you lost a one time $5-$6 tops. You might want to do the same thing with Surfshark using a fresh USB stick.
Good luck with things no matter if you stay with Surfshark or not.
