GIMP Question

#1 Post by grasshopper »

Up until a couple of weeks ago, every single graphics program I have used in the last 30 years has acted the same. But now GIMP is acting strange.

I can no longer cut-out a section of an image. When I select a portion, it won't let me "crop to image" or "cut/copy" that portion..it copies the entire image, always, regardless.

What setting is this and how can I restore normality?

Please post your QSI - Swap file is a huge thing with gimp
*QSI = Quick System Info from menu (Copy for Forum)
*MXPI = MX Package Installer
*Please check the solved checkbox on the post that solved it.
*Linux -This is the way!

It was moved a number of years back from the "Selection" menu to the "Image" menu because the crop tool will do it in a single hit by making a selection and simply clicking inside the selection will make it happen, with the exception the original canvas size remains visible in the background. To continue using your comfortable workflow, make your selection then click the "Image" menu and you'll find the crop to selection in there.
