Re: MX-23 alpha2 feedback thread
Nouveau lags pretty far @zebedeeboss for sure.
Do the proprietary drivers cover it?

Testing MXFB 23, and don't understand this:
--we are using moka-font-theme and fonts-font-awesome
--in the current Xfce 23a2 build (installed, updated), both show up with an apt policy query
--in the MXFB 23 pre-alpha (Live, updated), neither can be found, tried switching repos

Re: MX-23 alpha2 feedback thread
@Freja , I saw the video, but I cannot reproduce that slow down. @dolphin_oracle said he has the same size monitor and was going to test on that. Otherwise, all I can do is to attempt to make a different size ( ie smaller).Freja wrote: Sat Apr 29, 2023 12:57 am @CharlesV
Please check this actual video.
Press Esc key will cancel boot animation. (but why?)
Boot animation too slow (on boot)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THqBPzvhpU4
Environment: 2013 Retina MacBook Pro (2560 x 1600) MX-21.3
My concern when making it was the size and if slow machines could handle that size. But even if that MacBook is an i5 it shouldn't be that slow. And since both the images and your monitor are the same aspect ratio I wouldn't think there is any calculation slow down problem there either.

3 hours later, it went through. Maybe had to do with the Debian upgrade that was just released...

That's weird. Did you check the integrity of the download and the USB (now you can do that right on the opening screen?

Re: MX-23 alpha2 feedback thread
Thanks @Jerry3904!
Yes, I always check the integrity of the download, and I tried that cool new feature on the opening screen. Just to be sure, I copied the MX-LUM log. Here are the results from the Live USB (actually a 16GB Micro SD Card):
All the md5's check-out.
I have a few other issues that I want to report on, but there doesn't seem to be any point until I get this resolved...
Addendum: Just Shutdown, discharged power, changed USB (Micro SD) to different port, restarted:
No change. Still can't install anything.
Will be powering-down for the night and check back in the A.M.
Hope somebody has some ideas; if not, I can always try a different medium, make a new USB, etc.

64-bit filesystem support is not enabled. The larger fields afforded by this feature enable full-strength checksumming. Pass -O 64bit to rectify.

live-usb-maker took one minute and 55 seconds.
