@asqwerth our build of transmission is using gtk-4.0, which is why it works with some themes and not others. and apparently not respecting the gconf dark-mode setting.

so we would need a gtk4.0 folder. but just copying our exisitng gtk3 folder into a gtk4.0 folder does theme the app, but breaks the interface. I could install the Qt one, but other than that, we would need a theme with a gtk-4.0 setup.

its worth pointing out that the debian version of transmission is still using gtk3.

How come we are not using the debian one?

I'm not sure why mx-comfort will work where the dark variant doesn't, when it also does not have a gtk-4.0 folder. That's why I'm wondering if it really is a gtk4.0 thing. It might be a gtk3.20 folder thing.

If you are right though, we may need help from people who understand gtk4.0 theming.

Alternatively I'm also wondering if it is possible to reverse engineer another theme's (need one that is numix-based) gtk4.0 folder if we can compare and then swap their key colours.

I'm not booted into MX23 right now and it's late here. Going off to bed soon. I may not be free to fiddle with this until the weekend.

in this case, we can also use the qt build, which is fine.

when I made a gtk4.0 folder, I got at least dark themeing. also the depends are libgtk4 stuff instead of 3.

I think @CharlesV can solve it.
Finally had a chance to check this and I am not seeing anything causing a slow down in the animation. Checked four machines, and all looks normal. Unfortunately, I do NOT have access to a 2560x1600 machine.

Mine is 2500 x 1600. I don’t see any slow down at least not that I can notice I’ll play with one of older animations and see if there’s a difference
