Hello,
As for the package "Hypnotix", confirmed here that it is NOT installable for MX-23 alpha2.
I have got an error message as follows:

Code: Select all

root@mx1:/home/demo# LANG=en apt install ./hypnotix_2.6-1~mx21+1_all.deb
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done

Note, selecting 'hypnotix' instead of './hypnotix_2.6-1~mx21+1_all.deb'
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
hypnotix : Depends: libmpv1 but it is not installable
Depends: python3-imdbpy but it is not installable

May I request xfdashboard be packaged for MX23? It's not in the repos.

It's still maintained.

Now that I've finished the FAQs 2023, I have a suggestion: delete the desktop icon for mxum. The first entry of the FAQs answers the question about about whether there is a Manual, and there is an entry right on the Welcome screen staring the user in the face on first boot. It seems to me much more likely that a user will click on "FAQs" than "Manual", and I think simplifying and focusing the desktop icons would be beneficial.

@Jerry3904 We all work in different ways and the only desktop icons I have are Manual and FAQ. I leave them there because it's a convenient way to access them on the few occasions I use them. I have no strong feelings on this but a direct link to the Manual seems to me to be useful.

Those icons are first things i remove (don't use conkys either).
Easy to get via super-key.

But, can understand its use for some folks (especially newcomers).

Thank you. Testing it in MX23. The main functionality works, but the hot-corner plugin from the plugins package does not. This is the output:

Code: Select all

$ xfdashboard –daemon

(xfdashboard:11123): Wnck-CRITICAL **: 23:26:15.646: wnck_set_client_type: changing the client type is not supported.

(xfdashboard:11123): xfdashboard-plugin-hot_corner-WARNING **: 23:26:15.695: Disabling hot-corner plugin because core cannot suspend.
Not sure what that means.

If this can't be sorted to provide hot corners, I just spotted that the old deprecated xfce4-hotcorner-plugin [ I used to use it hand in hand with xfdashboard before the deprecation around MX17] is now being maintained again:
https://github.com/christopherkobayashi ... ner-plugin

Would respectfully ask for that to be packaged when you are free. It's not high-priority, I'm sure there are more important packages to build.
