Just like we have various other dkms packages in MXPI for rtl8xxx devices offering easy installation, is it possible to have one for the morrownr git driver for rtl88x2bu until we get in-kernel support in 6.x?

You can submit a request for the rtl88x2bu drivers to be added to the repo here. (https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewforum.php?f=147)
I'm not sure if the current rtl* drivers in the repo covers the *bu devices. Just make sure to post a link to the source. (https://github.com/morrownr/88x2bu-20210702)
*Edit: Just noticed it's posted to the package request section. Maybe it just got over looked.

Re: [Request] RTL88x2BU Driver DKMS
I have a realtek 8821cu wifi adapter, so I've been following this. The 6.1.0-6mx kernel does not include the 8821cu or 8822bu drivers. However the linux-liquorix 6.2.6-1 kernel does have them and my adapter works without the dkms driver (hurray, one I can stop updating!)
n.b. I had to remove linux-firmware and replace it with firmware-linux in order to install firmware-realtek and get a stable connection.

Re: [Request] RTL88x2BU Driver DKMS
Firmware-realtek is more up-to-date at the moment, and I'm not going to update the stopgap "linux-firmware" as long as Debian is continuing to update it upstream. Maybe we could push "mx-debian-firmware" into the mx-system metapackage for AHS to switch everyone back over to Debian packages.
As far I know, the -dkms drivers installed their own firmware.
