You mean the Default or the Root PW?

Just the user's pw. (that's requested by default on MX21, root's was the default on previous releases, MX19 and before...)

Shortly, whenever you see an authentication dialog (also in terminal for sudo) just enter your user pw.

(In case root's pw. is requested particularly, it'll tell you that .)

You mean the password to login into the Forum? The default and roots are the only ones I wrote down.

I don't know what it is believe it or not???

No, there's nothing related to Forum.

Just the user on your installed MX (you entered a pw. when you entered a username for yourself during installation, right? )

(The "default user"s pw.)
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I did but in all the turmoil I can't recall what it was??? Oh No! I feel so foolish.
How or where can I find it?

"MX User Manager" from menu (but that will also probably ask for the pw. to start)

I'm very very sorry but everything I've entered has failed so far.

Boot with live usb, then open "Chroot Rescue Scan" from menu

It'll find your installed MX, press Enter.. when you see this

chroot>

issue this command:

Code: Select all

mx-user
(Click the menu "select user to modify" ...) then enter a new pw. for that user (you).. Apply, close, shutdown.

Boot the installed MX.

I'm at the MX User Manager window.
The second box down is Change User Password. It says: Select User to modify: none and I hit the drop down arrow it brings up root and ralphael. I should choose ralphael then enter the new PW and Confirm correct?
