Re: Firefox crash after last update

@BitterTruth I am going to see if the next time FF crashes, I try using a different Desktop or WM for a while and see if the crashes stop. You may be right, the XFCE4 compositor is ON on my machines all the time and FF may be having a fit now. But it could be the graphics driver/CPU..

Crashes are very random so.. guessing game anyone?

Code: Select all

gfx.canvas.accelerated                                 true                                                        =====> false
This seems to have fixed it for me too, no crashes so far after setting this to FALSE.

@pianokeyjoe I have awesomewm installed and it was crashing on that too. Mind you I was using compton with it for the transparency.

Thank you all here on the forum for your interest and help, I've been trying for a couple of hours the solution provided above by Bitter Truth and so far I've had no crash...

This is yet another example of how great this community is. People confirmed the problem, set about troubleshooting and tracking down possible solutions, and arrived at what appears to be the solution, all out in the open and in real time. Bravo.

I'm thinking the same I think it's the problem with the graphics GPU or drivers or both!

Since it's a common issue in your case with different browsers:

Other than doing the above solution for FF. :

in all browsers open settings/preferences, search for "hardware acceleration".. disable. Close it, restart, try.
