Grazie,
This is what I see when I open the QSI. If I tick the small blue icon in the upper left corner it opens up a drop down list and its set to '"Open Same As other windows"
I'm considering buying a NEW thumbdrive today and downloading it again.
PLEEZE supply the exact link.
When I plug the thumbdrive into my Windows puter a red line appears across the entire properties tab and says there is like 14kb of space remaining "a hairline of space." This is a 16GB thumbdrive why is it nearly maxxed out of space I wonder?
Don't know what the red line indicates???

I'll remove the hdd and clean and make certain its secure.

Ah, your QSI version is just a bit 1-2 versions back, that's why no such menu..

Simply issue the command in a terminal :

Code: Select all

sudo featherpad /var/log/minstall.log

This is the latest MX 21.3 , updated on Feb 15 (just for you asked) :

http://it.mxrepo.com/Downloads/Snapshot ... ry_x64.iso

... And the sha512 file to check if you can:

http://it.mxrepo.com/Downloads/Snapshot ... iso.sha512

When I Paste this into the Terminal. Note the attachement is what I get.
Terminal2023-02-19_13-01-24.png
sudo featherpad /var/log/minstall.log

This I'd use for the download/install correct? http://it.mxrepo.com/Downloads/Snapshot ... iso.sha512 cause thats what it looks like when I open it.
Huck! do you feel the hdd is bad and needs replacement at this time?
Thank You both

The pw. is demo on live session, just enter that . (But again, it will show the info regarding the issue only after it occurs, cause it writes it step by step what happened when etc.. only after that happens..)

The hdd is not bad, I also have another idea (we'll go on)

Download clicking the 1st link , the sha512 is just to check whether the iso is correct (true/genuine) and whether it was downloaded successfully, every bit ..

Can i check the remaining space on the current thumbdrive?
If 21.3 requires about 2GB why would a 16GB thumbdrive be almost totally used space wise?
Thank you!
Huck did you notice the attachment in Post # 85? I guess its a older version according to Eadwine Rose. Hmm?!

You said you thought it was a step or two behind from the attachment I showed of what I have and what Huck showed that's all. It looks to be a bit more friendly finding the logs in question.
Thank You!!!
