I've built it and its dependency for MX 19/21, and you can get it early here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1V4DKhs ... share_link

Unrelated: annoyingly, xpenguins leaves trails all over the place like some "Penguin descending a Staircase" painting. :frown:

Thank you for early preview builds.

Do you have a ball park idea on when it will be available in the repositories?

Much appreciated!

I just saw it in there! Thank you so much for your work.

Wanted to say that I too have experienced those frustrating trails from xpenguins as well. It has been some years & it was on a different distro/video hardware at the time.

Will have to see if I can replicate it myself & investigate.

Will keep you guys posted.

I backported the current xpenguins 3.2.1 from Debian Experimental, where it's been sitting for quite a while. Why, I don't know, since it fixed the trail problem for me as well as add a control GUI. I guess I'll need to build it for the next Debian 12-based MX soon, too.

Good evening.

I have downloaded Asciiquarium from the package provided by @Stevo

Surfing the zip /asciiquarium-1.1_project/asciiquarium_1.1/ I get two folders, mine is mx21, I have moved this folder to my Documents folder, where I have executed the .deb via mx new deb installer. Installation seemed to be okay, however I can't find any icon or command in terminal to execute it.

Any tips for a mortal like me 9_9

Thank you.

What happens when you enter

Code: Select all

asciiquarium
in the terminal, then? There's no menu entry as yet, so that's the current way to start it.

You can cut and paste the output in this message box.

My fail was trying to execute the program from the same terminal screen, during the installation, at that time terminal didn't recognize the command, red color on zh.
With new terminal, program is running okay. ;)

Sorry to waste your time, and thanks @Stevo

Edit1:

The use of c command is powerful
