Yes, For this animation, "Black & White, and Keep It Simple" new GRUB Theme is best.
It's better not to show the logo at the GRUB stage.

Maybe, the people familiar with GRUB theme can design it.

There is a B&W existing that is not too bad, and I think we could take the current blue graphic and remodel it to be really close.

I wont claim to be ANYWHERE as good as Freja, but give me a few days and I will see what I can come up with.

note: It's Just playing. Please use it as a reference only.
My coding skills are amateur.

https://firestorage.com/download/4d8048 ... a818cdd42d

Code: Select all

/usr/share/plymouth/themes/
Drop into it to this directory, and use MX Boot Option, It worked.

I tried to make splash theme in 1920x1200 high resolution,
at continuing .png animation.
I based (modified) built-In "percentage" data.

but too heavy, not practical... It requires very fast machine.

If you want to enjoy high-resolution on a fast machine,
this seems to be a good one.
CharlesV's Splash is very ligher than this one (more practical).
CharlesV's splash made with a completely different methodology. (Maybe)

For KDE it would need to be put in a different location. I have not tried it but other splash screens I have downloaded land in ./local/share/plasma/look-and-feel. When I get a chance I will put it there to test.
EDIT: That is not it. More may be required. Those directories containing the files all have a metadata folder included and a splash.qml file. I will leave it to the experts.

the KDE splash you are referring to is not the plymouth boot splash we are talking about here. the plymouth theme is before the KDE splash.

OK, here is the plymouth setup called MXLive
https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code ... tnNSg8PHDV

Please download it, and do the following:

1) Copy the MXLive folder inside to
/usr/share/plymouth/themes

( You should have /usr/share/plymouth/themes/MXLive when done )

2) Set these files into use with the following command
sudo plymouth-set-default-theme MXLive -R

reboot.

I have tested it on five machines, one fast, one slow, two 'mid-range' and one VM. it appears t be good in all I have tested.

Please , someone test thoroughly before use :-) .. I am continuing to test at this time.

Any questions or problems, hit me up here :-)

And thank you !

It works perfectly on my about 800gram intel notebook.
When HDMI output, works perfectly too.
