It doesn't happen for me. How do you change the font, in KDE settings?
Same thing happens if you change the font only in Yakuake? If you go to Profile -> New Profile -> Appearance -> Font

Hello
Yes I change the font in KDE settings. I change all the fonts in KDE settings to 14.
I've gone back to XFCE, I just wanted to report it.

i did, and the problem persists in MX linux 23.5 (KDE 5.27.5).
it can be fixed by changing the font to a "mono-spaced font" in KDE appearance settings.

IN XFCE, I just increase the DPI setting. Can you not do the same thing in KDE?
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;
In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

you mean change the DPI to fix the problem in KDE?j2mcgreg wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 7:57 pm IN XFCE, I just increase the DPI setting. Can you not do the same thing in KDE?
i dont know, because it says "changing DPI values from default will conflict with many apps" on the tooltip of "force font DPI", and i have seen enough broken GUIs in KDE, so i left it at default. i dont know how KDE is calculating the "default" DPI, though. for a 1920x1080 resolution it gives me 144 DPI (at 150% scaling).

Well.. the good thing about changing it, is that you can very easily change it back if you happen to not like it.
Give it a try.

Leave the scaling at the default setting and just raise the DPI. My HP 15's resolution is 1920 x 1080 and all I did was raise the DPI from the default 96 to 120.samegold wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 10:08 pmyou mean change the DPI to fix the problem in KDE?j2mcgreg wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 7:57 pm IN XFCE, I just increase the DPI setting.
