#1 Post by herbie »

No networks available even after adding SSID and password.
I know that it going to show Manjaro but since I cannot access the Internet I pulled the info from there.

You can simply try MX AHS and install the latest 6.x kernel from MX Package Installer - Popular Apps tab with 2 clicks.

(In case you have the default MX, install 6.x again)

Edit: Oh, it sounds like your title is wrong: If it lists available networks (Access Points) when you click the Network icon, then it's working.
If so:

Code: Select all

sudo tee /etc/resolv.conf <<!
nameserver 1.1.1.1
nameserver 1.0.0.1
nameserver 8.8.8.8
!
And try to open a web page right after that.

If that works we'll go on (as this one is temporary).
Also it's normal that the terminal warns you about security when you paste this. Just click paste, then press Enter.

But wouldn't I need an Internet connection?

If you see access points when you click the NM icon that's ok. In that case this may solve it.

(Ah, yes, you mean 6.x .. for a moment I thought you had wired connection)

That's just it, When I click on the NM it says no networks available.

Ok, then you added SSID and pw. manually? Without seeing on the list and clicking ..

If yes, just try MX AHS, it already has a newer kernel (5.18) than the default MX.

Absolutely, your hardware requires the MX Linux ahs edition. Luckily, there is a ISO file for ahs 21.2, and we will shortly have a 21.3 AHS.

OK, I will go download said iso.
BTW, If I choose whole disk on install, does the installer create that vfat area automatically?
