I added Enlightenment 0.25.3 to my XFCE and it wasn't long before an old romance was rekindled. No blank desktop shot because it's just a picture and Conky. Here's a shot with Desktop gadget overlay(toggle).

(I wish I could understand how to go about switching it to a public image so one doesn't have to be logged in to see it).

My Mx 21.1 Desktop with Xfce 4.16. The picture is kinda small because I don't know how to properly resize the screenshot image lol sorry. Try zooming in on it

This is my Fluxbox . There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My Fluxbox is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Fluxbox is useless. Without my Fluxbox, I am useless.

Nice! The Desktop gadgets make a nice alternative to either a Conky or GKrellM, or even could work nice in combo with, the Enlightenment gadgets for the 'Dark' theme are much cooler than the newer Flat gadgets for sure..

I have to agree about the look of the gadgets "and everything really" looking better in the Dark theme. I'm still looking for the comfortable desktop and feel I'm getting close. I kinda prefer the desktop overlay toggle and that way you can peek at gadgets over windows. In the long run I opt for fewer steps.
