Bug in Thunderbird?

#1 Post by butch »

It seems to me that about 2-3 weeks ago a bug was introduced in Thunderbird 78.13.0 in MX-21.

Amazon always sends emails that contain several urls about current orders.
Clicking on any of those urls used to invoke the browser and display info about current status of an order.

However, now, clicking on any of those urls will not invoke the browser.

Rather, Thunderbird replies:
1. If no "Blogs & Newsfeeds" account exists then one will be created.
2. Thereafter, it will send a message to the bottom of the page that:
a. "You already have a subscription for this feed"
b. url followed by "not a valid feed"

Suggest, to post Quick-System-Info report, so we need not to guess what you are running.
And let as know "what" "the browser" is you've mentiond.
As an appetizer, covering a bit the issue, you may start reading this:
Firefox Forgets That It's The Default Browser
where some principle have been mentioned, which still may apply and is related to the thunderbird issue.
Also please post the output of this command:

Code: Select all

gio mime x-scheme-handler/https

I have not seen such an upgrade. Nor can I find it anywhere.
Are you sure that it was 78.14?
