Flatpack install error - SOLVED

#1 Post by rickc »

Hi there

Been using MX without issue for years. Not sure if switching to cinnamon has caused this, but I can't install flatpack via the mx package instataller

Looking for matches?
error: Flatpak system operation Configure not allowed for user
2022/12/01 14:37:09 socat[10614] E waitpid(): child 10620 exited with status 1

I've google it and advice is to add -user to the command line, of course I can't do this via the package installer.

Any advice appreciated, thanks

I had/have also had this problem, but only with one or two applications, not in general.
My (quick & dirty) solution: You can install flatpaks for all users (default) or for the current user. I changed from "all users" to "current user" and then it worked.
