I am test-driving the live version of MX-21_KDE. In the live version, I can get sound and internet working just fine, but printing is another matter entirely. (I had and eventually solved the problem two years agoin MX-19, one reason I have been reluctant to switch.) I tried running the script specified in the Wiki, but I cannot get anything to print. My printer is a Brother HL-2270DW. My printers.conf file from MX-19 has a DeviceURI specified as 192.168.X.X/ipp/port1 (192.168.X.X). I omitted the ending numbers on the IP addresses, but my DeviceURI line in my printers.conf file has two different IP addresses. I tried each one separately and also tried typing it in as it shows in my configuration file. Neither worked. I tried using the ipp and ipps options from the script and got a Bad Device Name error. I tried the Specify IP address option and the Auto option. None of them worked. Any suggestions?
I print a lot. So I need a working printer. I can't install MX-21 if I can't get printing to work.
