are antiX packages/programs installable in MX?

#1 Post by cmhobbs »

I'm not sure if I'm posting on the right subforum or not but I was curious if it was possible to get some of the antiX specific programs installed on MX by way of the package installer? I use antiX on a little netbook in my garage and I've found the "ytfzf" script to be immensely useful. It's under the "Multimedia" submenu of "Applications" as "Youtube video player".

I considered just copying the script over to my main desktop with scp but I thought I'd ask here first.

Thanks!

... Tried too, and yes ytfzf, it is a nice terminal app. (tested with w3m for the thumbnails viewer)

Code: Select all

Tested with the latest version here:
ytfzf --version
ytfzf: 2.5.2

$ w3m -version
w3m version w3m/0.5.3+git20190105, options lang=en,m17n,image,color,ansi-color,mouse,gpm,menu,cookie,ssl,ssl-verify,external-uri-loader,w3mmailer,nntp,gopher,ipv6,alarm,mark,migemo

Edit: and It is very easy to install: https://github.com/pystardust/ytfzf
... but need custom configuration into: /home/user/.config/ytfzf/conf.sh

Code: Select all

git clone https://github.com/pystardust/ytfzf
cd ytfzf
sudo make install doc addons
