Re: Chromium, Chrome and Opera can't open links in dropdown menu
Bumping this since no-one really listened to the op.
On antiX-21 (bullseye) there IS an issue as described with chromium/google-chrome in IceWM and fluxbox (but not jwm).
Can others see if the same happens on MX-21 fluxbox ONLY.
Thanks

Any example side which is not working. At the mentioned side in post #1 I don't see "Drop Down" menus in any browser. Just normal menus and normal content.anticapitalista wrote: Thu Oct 14, 2021 1:16 pm Bumping this since no-one really listened to the op.

OK - here's an example.
Go to antiX forum -> Drop down menu Forum - Latest topics.
Does it open?

MXPI->PopApps-> Browser Chromiuem installed
DropDown menus on https://mxlinux.org
* all drop-down menus do work
DropDown menu on https://www.antixforum.com/
On main forum page: freshly loaded forum drop-down menu all entries get highlighted when hover over with mouse
* left click seems not always to work; appears to work only when other tab is busy loading
* middle-click always works and opens in new tab
* workaround mentioned in antiX-forum to add chromium with parameter --disable-features=SendMouseLeaveEvents
seems to make it work for https://www.antixforum.com:
Code: Select all
chromium --disable-features=SendMouseLeaveEvents

Thanks @fehlix.
So is it a bug with fluxbox, chrome/chromium or the antiX web site?

Re: Chromium, Chrome and Opera can't open links in dropdown menu
I apologize for reviving this rather old thread...
I have just started playing with MX 21 - Fluxbox.
The same issue with drop-down menus in MX 21 - Fluxbox, as I previously (almost two years ago) reported in antiX IceWM and antiX Fluxbox. This issue was reproduced by some other antiX users... In antiX this issue appeared to be fixed after some time but kept recurring later. This was the primary reason I eventually dropped IceWM and Fluxbox and moved to JWM going forward. Never such problem again...
Aside from this issue, MX 21 - Fluxbox is very nicely implemented. The best one, IMHO. Thank you.

Re: Chromium, Chrome and Opera can't open links in dropdown menu
I have the same behavior using Chrome on MX21.1 Fluxbox.
I have not enabled any outside repo to the best of my knowledge. Please let me know if I can provide any further information to help. This is by far my favorite Linux distro ever and love the customization possibilities of Fluxbox. Thank you Jerry for the videos. It appears we are Finger Lakes neighbors.

That's an old thread, not sure why the issue is still not fixed.hockeypbp wrote: Wed Oct 19, 2022 3:20 pm I have the same behavior using Chrome on MX21.1 Fluxbox.

The workaround was mentioned some posts above
to add "--disable-features=SendMouseLeaveEvents "
to the chrome / chromium launcher,
e.g for chromium:
You change the command from
Code: Select all
chromium %U
Code: Select all
chromium --disable-features=SendMouseLeaveEvents %U
and edit the entry and change the command.
That should fix the issue.
Re: Chromium, Chrome and Opera can't open links in dropdown menu
I've never seen this--is it an antiX problem or a MXFB one that we should fix?
Production: MX-23 Xfce, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 16 GB, SSD 120 GB, Data 1TB
Personal: MX-25 Fluxbox, ThinkPad X1 Carbon gen 9 with i7
Other: Raspberry Pi 5 with MX-23 Xfce Raspberry Pi Respin

Re: Chromium, Chrome and Opera can't open links in dropdown menu
See post #14, the issue is still present in latest MX Fluxbox on Drop Down menus.Jerry3904 wrote: Thu Oct 20, 2022 8:18 am I've never seen this--is it an antiX problem or a MXFB one that we should fix?
Just tested with both chrome and chromium, after manually installed using MX Package Installer->Populare Apps->Browser.
+++EDIT+++
To note chrome and chromium are not installed by default with MX Fluxbox.
