Internet Connection issue

Internet connection slows to a crawl and/or stops for long periods and then back to normal.

For the past 4 or 5 weeks my internet connections occasionally slows to a crawl, often stopping completely.
This happens so often I contacted my service provider and reported the problem, after testing, they reported no issues found...

Out if curiosity I asked a friend (who shares the connection) if they experienced and connection problems during the same time period, they had not!

The next time I had issues, I quickly rebooted into my other Linux distro and strangely enough, it was perfectly fine, no issues with access so...
I quickly rebooted back to MX but of course the connection issues persisted, page load time all over the place if indeed it managed to load a page.

Well, one: you're using an outdated (though still supported) version of MX. You should really be using MX-21AHS. Two: if your MX-19 installation has been in use for a long while there's probably a lot of cruft on the system just like you eventually get with any OS. Three: you've left your MX Test and Debian Backports repos permanently enabled, so if the green "updates available" icon came on and you installed those updates you probably hosed your system. That would make this a good time to back up your data and upgrade to MX-21, and in future (other than using MX Repo Manager to change the MX repos to MX's own servers rather than 3rd-party mirrors) don't mess with your repos! If you want to install something from either MX Test or Debian Backports use MX Package Installer (which temporarily enables the repo long enough for you to browse, search and install from it then disables it again.) Don't use Synaptic.

@MikeOToole , looks like the same problem I experienced after an update. I changed the kernel to 5.16 which fixed it. I currently use the 5.19 kernel. Try installing kernel 5.16 or higher.
I am command line illiterate. :confused: I copy & paste to the terminal. Liars, Wiseguys, Trolls, and those without manners will be added to my ignore list. :mad:

The issue has changed somewhat, only need to stop and restart Firefox and things are back to normal...
