Re: installed MX 2.1 MX-21.1_x64 so slow
i tried both. i have to press esc. than i can choose UEFI USB or normal USB. but cant finish the installation.fehlix wrote: Tue Aug 16, 2022 1:54 pmHmme, would be helpfull to figure this out, in case smething needs to be fixed.
Anyway try install entire disk when ready reboot ( or better shutdown and pull-out liveUSB)
and check whether it boots intzo the GRUB menu.
Otherwise press F12-Boot options list and select MX21 EFI loader from listed boot options,
just in case MX21 is not the preselected default EFI loader..

Re: installed MX 2.1 MX-21.1_x64 so slow
OK. Try again either UEFI or non-UEFI and do select to not install GRUB.sisqonrw wrote: Tue Aug 16, 2022 2:35 pm I tried not UEFI Version to. both froze and hang.

Does the installer finish?
When finished: Close the installer but do not reboot (untick reboot with the last screen)
Do now open "MX Boot Repair"
and try to install GRUB separately.

i cant finish the installation what ever i choose. only with boot parameters like failsafe etc. i can finish the installation. which boot parameters can i choose and should i do it with UEFI or normal USB?fehlix wrote: Tue Aug 16, 2022 2:41 pmOK. Re: installed MX 2.1 MX-21.1_x64 so slow
use failesafe. Try UEFI boot mode first - auto install entire disk.sisqonrw wrote: Tue Aug 16, 2022 2:46 pmi cant finish the installation what ever i choose. only with boot parameters like failsafe etc. i can finish the installation. which boot parameters can i choose and should i do it with UEFI or normal USB?fehlix wrote: Tue Aug 16, 2022 2:41 pmOK. maybe a litte bit slow but it is ok.
Within the installed booted system open MX Tweak -> within one of the tabs (either "Other" or somewhere else)
you'll find something like "use intel drive" or "intel Xorg driver" or similar wording.
This will add and alternative way to enable intel driver as kernel modesetting driver seems not working ootb.

but installation of apps take a lot time. streamtuner2 for example 6-7 minutes.
keepassx currently 10 minutes and it isnt still installed till now.
it is a little bit to long.
Re: installed MX 2.1 MX-21.1_x64 so slow

Re: installed MX 2.1 MX-21.1_x64 so slow
Not sure whether xorg intel driver would have helped to stop the hanger.sisqonrw wrote: Tue Aug 16, 2022 4:39 pm i cant install keepassx nothing happens.
