Display Resolution Set Too High

#1 Post by pretty-pixel »

I have installed MX 21.1 AHS x64 on my Lenovo Ideapad 5i Pro. All appears to be well except from the display resolution is set to the max 2880. This makes everything on the screen too small. My laptop's resolution is 2240 x 1400. I do not know how to set this in MX, and would be grateful of assistance.

Thank you.

In System Settings go to Hardware then Displays and Monitor. Choose Display and you can adjust your resolution there.

Thank you for the reply, but I can see Settings, and System.. Not System Settings.

Just type display in the (Whisker) Menu.

i have been there, but my display resolution off 2240 x 1400 is not in the drop down list.

Then maybe there's something with the driver ... Please just start "Quick System Info" from menu, then directly right-click: paste into your post (no need to manually copy the output).

Drivers look ok. So, are there no other options close to 2240 x 1400 ?

You can also post the output of

Code: Select all

xrandr
Can also install ARandR:

Code: Select all

sudo apt update ; sudo apt install arandr -y
then start it from menu...

Sometimes the issue is solved just with another type of cable..
