Ahs Kerenels support life cycle in MX 21 xfce [Solved]
Ahs Kerenels support life cycle in MX 21 xfce
Hi. I was trying to find information without success about ahs kernels support cycle. I use xfce 21.1 on two cores 2.4GHZ, 8GB RAM, 1GB HDD (non ahs version) and everything was working fine to Debian Kernel 5.10.0.13. Since 5.10.0.15 came and later 5.10.0.16 my Windows and Selks 7 installed on Virtual Machines have lot of problems. Randomly restarts, freezes and reboots. When switch back to kernel ..13 they works fine. When move to ahs Kernel 14 and 15 they work fine too. My question is these ahs Kernel do they have some longer life time support than relevant Debian signed kernels ot not? Wold be safety to use Kernel 14 ahs in next 2 years until MX 21 expires? The issues I have with 5.10.0.15/6 are only when I use HDD. On SSD installed on the same configuration everything works good. Probably this problem is related to hard disk speed. Thanks.
Re: Ahs Kerenels support life cycle in MX 21 xfce [Solved]
PS: last night I spent time to install Debian 11 XFCE on same HDD and SSD and same PC, used one and same USB ISO, same Kernel 5.10.0.16, same Virtual Machines and the result is Working VM on both disks with no issues. I assume this problem is related somehow to MX itself not to Debian or Kernel vesrion. I will be marking this post as SOLVED coz it is "as expected" default even it is not (my experience from Ubuntu and Mint forums when for some people is much important to see "Solved" on the post Instead of Solved of the issue). Meanwhile 2 bugs reported in bugzilla forum regarding MX21 in last November are still unsolved and uncommented. Not good. Thanks and good luck you guys.ropcku wrote: Wed Jul 20, 2022 2:11 am Hi.
