MX on a Mac Mini (late 2014)

#1 Post by mg979 »

My desktop PC broke and I got this Mac Mini 2014 second-hand, not really knowing exactly what I was getting. After OS installation, I found out it's MacOS Sierra and can't be upgraded, so I was thinking of installing MX Linux on it. Did anybody install MX Linux on a Mac Mini? Was it a smooth process? Are temperatures ok or does it run too hot? Thanks

The 2014 Mac Mini has an Intel processor and per Debian's wiki you should be able to install their distro (which MX is based on), depending on what version your Mini is, and if you've flashed it with the latest firmware for it prior to starting the installation.
