Great, this advise has been, so far so good. The edit of my fstab seems to have worked. I studied the man page for fstab to get a feel for what means what, used your line as a guide and now can change permissions as I think I should. I have not Cked my V-Box usage but I am confident I'll be good to go. I'll mark this as solved as soon as I figure out how. Thank you for your time, patients and help. Thank you.

Had to keep at it, read many man pages, had to learn about umask, dmask, fmask. Displaying the mask in octal (0007) and letter (+rwx). Not an expert, but system is now working as before.
