Update Removed Dolphin-Emu  [Solved]

#1 Post by 03hdfatboy »

Got ready to play a gamecube game ony to find my emulator (Dolphin-Emu) missing. Went to Descover and it wasen't listed, tried other package installers with no luck. Luckly I had a complete backup using snapshot. What do I do to prevent it from happening again?

Well, there is no bullseye version of dolphin-emu. They removed it before bullseye was released last year because it failed to build for amd64 & arm64 arches. There was a fix upstream but it depends on library versions not in bullseye.
I assume you installed the buster version in MX-21. It's possible a dependency updating caused a conflict.
You might check /var/log/apt/history.log to see if there's a clue there.

It's available as a flatpak so you can easily install it with the MX Package Installer.
