Wallpaper issue on boot

#1 Post by K_B_Tidwell »

On boot as my system transitions from the splash screen, the original "Honesty" background appears even though I am using the Variety app and have cycled through many different backgrounds since first installation.
The Honesty background then tiles as the desktop scaling changes to my preferred 1.3 ratio, and then Variety takes over and changes the background to whatever I've selected previously.
My goal is to ideally make the first background splash process display the image I've selected, or as a make-do, have it be simply a blank black background or some such to eliminate the janky switching to and fro.

go into /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf and comment out this line:

Code: Select all

display-setup-script=/usr/local/bin/early-bg
that will disable the wallpaper from displaying between login and xfce starting up.

and you can use "lightdm-gtk-greeter-settings" in the menu to disable the login screen background, which is what you are seeing during launch of the desktop before variety takes over. possibly also you are seeing whatever wallpaper is set in the Xfce Desktop settings as well, not sure how fast variety does its thing.
