I am following this link in respin. Home page shows Fvwm Extensions (configs archive). It is great to archive the user-made Fvwm configs, new and old.

This will help and save time in creating new one. Keep up!!

@rasat thankyou for the work on fvwm3 and related bits for MX! @amlug thankyou for the fvwmEXT link, I have bookmarked it. I found NsCDE prepackaged for SPARKYLINUX as I always do their prepackaged CDE DESKTOP. I want to be able to change the default theme in FVWM3 which is the SAME one in FVWM2 latest.. How do I do that? I want the look of CDE desktop/MWM and even the OLD FVWM 2 from SuSE LINUX 7.0! AND..And.. the beautiful look of FVWM from MANDRAKE LINUX 7.0! That one was blue and gold and metallic but with the same MOTIF widgets look of the OLD FVWM1. Fvwm has so much perty perty potential but no easy way to accomplish this. NsCDE seems is a complete Fvwm 2 CDE desktop emulation theme that can be applied systemwide which is GOOD. But I do want other themes to be instantly switchable like in Enlightenment 16 and Windowmaker WMs. Any help in this respect would be greatly appreciated!!

Only to change the theme (appearance of window) to look like CDE, it is done with .config settings (gtk-3.0, gtk-2.0, .gtkrc-2, etc.). This is how NsCDE partially does. Unfortunately, then everything regardless of WM or DE looks like CDE.

In FVWM3 and 2, the appearance of buttons, panels, pagers, and decors (window title bar/frame) is made by user-made coloroset and style configs. To look like CDE, would be interesting to try.

In this screenshot (NsCDE + Fvwm), the window of file manager is by Fvwm style/decor config, and the Front Panel by NsCDE color-tool of colorsets and gtk-3.0 or gtk-2.0 settings.

EDIT: Here is an Fvwm config sample of CDE decor (window frame).

@rasat Thankyou for the direction. Now I have a .config folder in my home directory and there is one in the root home directory as well. Now what file do I edit for the CDEDecor? Do I find a .fvwmrc file somewhere in my Linux filesystem? Or do I make a .fvwmrc file if it does not exist? And where do I put that file so my local user fvwm desktop finds it and changes the default theme to the CDEDecor theme? So far there is NO .fvwmrc file in my /home/linux home directory. I did find a system wide file in /etc/X11/fvwm/system.fvwmrc and system.fvwmrc-menu. Do I edit those? And then put the files in my /home/linux directory or do I drag and drop them into /home/linux/.config/ folder instead? It is kinda confusing cause the online instructions do NOT tell you WHAT file to edit or create, and WHERE to save the file..

For your questions, I have posted in another OP that is related to Fvwm configs. This one, keeping for respin discussions. Read here:
