https://imgur.com/a/sKszzSn Only in preparation, but the base is already there. I don't like too many extras, and I want to put the most necessary in gkrellm. I hope I managed to upload the screenshot correctly at all. However, not so much. I need to brush up

Very nice. :cool2:
I am command line illiterate. I copy & paste to the terminal. Liars, Wiseguys, Trolls, and those without manners will be added to my ignore list.

This is my final perfect WM with the merge of Xfce and Fvwm. The former has an excellent application manager and the latter is the best window/virtual manager. Super light and with unlimited functionalities. It is just a matter of creating new ones as per need and choices and managing with a graphical installer.

Xfce 4.16
Fvwm3 1.0.4 (also works well on Fvwm 2.6.8 )
Xfce panel 1 (taskbar), panel 2 (app icons), and whisker menu. Visible Fvwm extensions (left to right):

Code: Select all

1. Fvwm OverView button of current windows.
2. Menu for system tasks and wallpapers.
3. Thin window title bar.
4. Window manager bar to resize, move, tiling, etc.
5. CurW/AllW - List of windows on current and all desk pages.
6. VM Desk - Virtual Window Manager 2x2 Pages.
7. Thumbnails of iconified windows (terminal and thunar).
8. 1x5 Miniature view of desktops.
9. Calendar, time, and date button.

I normally like a totally blank desktop in black but lately am trying the "desktop as a launcher" - DaaL . I made the virtual room in Kolourpaint.

This is my wife's desktop. I took a picture of her actual desktop and removed all the stuff she had laying around the equipment in Kolourpaint.

She said it is much easier to compute now. I think it makes her experience more like using a toaster.

Here's a screenie from my current development system that is a real mutt of MX-21 XFCE4+Openbox+zzzFM File Manager. I'm not an idolizer of people but John Fogerty has been a constant fave and a real musical influence so I've been running an Adwaita-based theme and using these 2 wallpapers for about a month now. I dug up an old Spotify Conky from github and modded it a bit to get my Playlists displaying on my Desktop..

MX-21 with Fluxbox
Still mostly stock, since I'm still learning how to configure the WM. It's pretty fun so far.
I built my computer for doing illustration work, so I have MyPaint front and center.
