There's no Windows machines in this house. There's many other devices that connect fine to the router. I don't think the router firmware was updated recently. I have some WiFi USB dongles that have the same issue (for years) - they see the WiFi network, try to connect, but fail. I agree, I doubt it's due to MX.

Can you describe your router and settings? Like what type of router, are you using 2.4GHz or 5GHz or both? Are the channels set for 20MHz/40MHz etc.? There must be some setting on the router causing this on different WiFi devices, but work on others. For the ones that work, are they 2.4GHz and the ones which don't work are they 5GHz etc. That sort of info would be helpful.

I overlooked something that I really should have thought of earlier. I had MAC filtering enabled on the router from a long while back. I disabled it and the laptop WiFi now works fine. Doh! My bad.

Thank you for sticking by.

I thought so it was from your router. :-) Great job. No worries, I used MAC filtering too awhile back .. and hit into similar dumb network issue ...

When you mentioned the router in post #14, that got me thinking about the MAC filtering. :-)
