all of them are bugfix packages, so I guess you wouldn't get the bug fixes.

the update for libexpat1 is a security update, so the better question is...

why wouldn't you want to stay updated in the first place anyway?

You're rigth, thank you. I ask because I wanna know more... sorry if that sounded stupid :confused: But I'm very grateful for your feedback, so again, thank you :)

Snapshot has a system check fix and the installer has a fix for dealing with btrfs partitions. The desktop defaults package has a minor change to a script that was left over from development.

It wasn't a stupid question at all.

I guess I was more confused that you wanted to manually updated something here viewtopic.php?p=673316#p673316, but wanted to know about not updating something else here.

Updates causing problems is very very rare. Most updates are to fix security issues or bugs. Then sometimes updates are for new versions of applications.

But if you are concerned either way, use MX snapshot to make an personal snapshot ISO that you can use to reinstall with later (if you installed a lot of applications and other things it can get really big. Use Timeshift to make a snapshot (similar to Windows Restore/Rollback). Both of those tools are installed by default on MX-21. And make backups of important data, just because you never know, and its the smart/best thing to do.

@Lvl2u
Update often as a best practice. You are likely to see updates almost daily. These fix bugs and security issues that have been curated by Debian for Debian stable and overseen by MX-Linux developers and maintainers. Even on slower computers, most updates are very quick to process. Even better, you don't have to watch the update window once it's going. Users can go about their business and come back to the window when convenient if it doesn't close automatically for any reason.
